TEN STRESS RELIEVING TIPS

  • When something stressful comes your way, stop & take a deep breath. Using your open hand, lightly tap your whole chest until you can feel the oxygen filling your lungs. The act of tapping is to assist your adrenal function – the ’fight & flight’ mechanism that allows you to cope with the moment.
  • Grab a bottle of Rescue Remedy and place four drops under your tongue. This natural remedy, straight from Mother Nature, will help your adrenals cope with the physical & emotional impact of stress.
  • Make a cup of liquorice tea – ideal for short-term stress. For long-term stress, a cup of Hawthorn berry tea will give you courage. If the stress is from tiredness, then a cup of Ginseng tea will boost your energy.
  • The most important supplement for stress vitamin B complex. Stress factors often relate to faulty liver function as the liver contains & metabolises vitamin B.
  • Have a wonderful hot shower or bath, go for a swim if possible. Water has a soothing effect on a tired, stressed body.
  • Go & hug a friend. At the time when stress affects you, there is nothing like a hug from a friend - especially one who knows how to hug.
  • Communicate. Sharing the feeling of stressed halves the problem. Often just by talking about the problem will allow you to find the solution yourself.
  • Read your daily affirmations. A little book or motivated diary within easy reach can help you stay positive.
  • Go for a brisk walk, do a little exercise in the fresh air and hug a tree – nature has a soothing effect on the distressed body.
  • Stress does not necessarily stay long, so just remember that there is only one place to go & that’s up. Treat yourself to your favourite food, meal or a special treatment at Arome.

KEEPING THE COPORATE WORLD WELL

From the young professional to the baby boomer – the race is on – to keep up, stay afloat, stay well and somehow – enjoy life anyway! This is one of the precise trends in our beliefs at Arome by being able to assist people in maintaining their good health, their lifestyle in balance and stress levels low.

It is recognised that distress is becoming more prevalent in today's work environment. It only seems like yesterday when we were able to sneak out and get away from the stress – even for a little while, but now we are more accessible with the cell phones and e-mail and this prevents us from ever leaving work behind.

These people are largely self-employed, work in small professional teams or are employed by large corporations. Executive management of large corporations are not exempt, it is happening to them too. How acutely are these individuals increasingly aware that without their own health and that of their team(s) there is no company. Sick leave and ‘sick’ employees reduce productivity and drastically affect the bottom line. Just keeping people destressed and healthy is an ongoing concern.

At Arome, we recognise all these stresses, so we have put together a number of special indulgent relaxation Day Spa packages – special time out for oneself. We are able to offer a number of special packages and assistance toward maintaining inner balance and a healthy lifestyle path by achieving -

  • A reduction in stress levels
  • Time out to reflect and analyse what they could do better to manage their team / work.
  • A personal / life changing experience so you can be more productive.
  • A healthy experience with the hope that you will continue living a healthy lifestyle and therefore reduce sick leave, stress levels of self and those working with you.
  • Allow yourself time out to focus on yourself and then be more focused for work.

At Arome we will go that extra bit further, so you will feel more invigorated to take on the world!

THE TREATING OF ACNE

Article by Dawn Cowan and Richard Whelan (Medical Herbalist)

Spots, pimples & blemishes. Nearly everyone has had experienced them at one stage or another. For most it is a problem that passes with puberty. However for many teenagers and adults, acne wreaks havoc with their looks and their lives. The potential effects on confidence and self-esteem make acne a health problem that needs to be taken seriously.

For chronic, long-term acne to be successfully removed there are three keys elements that need attention......

Firstly the perceived causes or contributing factors for each person have to be investigated and dealt with wherever possible. The most commonly implicated causes behind acne are hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities, chemical or drug reactions, stress, immune system problems and toxicity through impaired bowel, liver, kidney or lymphatic function. Sometimes a combination of factors are at fault. Finding & treating the causes of acne can take time, but in order for long-term success it is definitely worth it.

Secondly, it is important to apply the principles of Holistic medicine to acne as much as any other health problem. The skin is the largest organ in the whole body, it will reflect problems & imbalances from elsewhere, but it will also function, feel & look much better when the rest of the body is working well too. Taking this approach means that the goal is not just an absence of pimples but also the presence of good, overall health and well-being.

Thirdly, the external treatment of the skin is as important as what is taken internally. The skin is a semi-permeable membrane; most things that are applied to it in the form of cream, lotions, ointments etc are absorbed & have an impact on all the layers of a healthy skin. Cleansing & re-toning skin damaged by acne can be possible with specialised beauty therapy treatments. Likewise consultation over the best choice of external medicines & cosmetics can go far to improve the skins overall condition.

TREATING ACNE .
Throughout my many years of working on problem skins, it is my opinion that acne can be one of the most difficult conditions to treat. However I do believe that the holistic approach to the treatment of acne will not only drastically reduce the treatment time but will also achieve the desired long-term success.

After a thorough (free) consultation, I will put together a program for the client to use at home & offer advice on things that we both can do to hasten the healing process.

One of the most successful product ranges I have worked with & recommend to all my clients is the Environ B-Active Range. The five products offered by Environ are intended for twice-daily use (morning & evening), & each contain Australian Tea Tree Oil to help control bacteria & inflammation as well as a mild exfoliant.

FIVE EASY TREATMENT STEPS

  • Pre cleanse with Sebutrol – an important step to control breakouts. Sebutrol elps the skin to retain its natural oils while minimising excessive oil secretion.
  • Cleanse Sebuwash – a mild gel cleanser with a low foaming activity. It also contains a specific ingredient that disperses oil.3 Tone - Sebutone – a medium strength toner containing lactic acid to lower skin pH & improve hydration. A very low dose of alcohol helps to degrease & nhance penetration of Sebugel-A.
  • Treatment withSebugel A – contains a low dose of vitamin A in combination with Tea Tree Oil. This will help to reduce sebum, smooth the top layer & disinfect the skin with the use of a highly effective antiseptic additive called Bovine Colostrums.
  • Sebuspot – a mild effective antiseptic for inflamed areas of the skin & breakout. It contains low doses of salicylic acid & alcohol to aid the penetration f the Tea Tree Oil into the pores & inflamed areas.
  • For every day care it is important to remember to use a sunscreen because UV exposure can contribute towards a problem skin.

If you or someone you know suffers from acne, then why not recommend an Arome free skin consultation?
