DEAD SEA MUD WRAP - Utilising the mineral rich properties of mud from the Dead Sea, this treatment offers the opportunity to revitalise tired skin as well as detoxify and energise your body.   This treatment includes a skin brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system, an application of Dead Sea Mud followed by an aroma steam shower before a luxurious application body milk treatment.

AROMA COLOUR CLAY WRAP - Choose from three equally delicious treatments utilising the benefits of colour, essential oils and organic remineralising clays.  This treatment starts with an aroma colour foot spa before an application of healing oil and special chosen colour clay.

MUD, GLORIOUS MUD

Muds have been used throughout history for hundreds of years; thier ability to balance body systems, soothe aches and pains and to smooth the skin makes them an important part of our spa therapy menu.

Being wrapped in warm gooey mud may not appeal to everyone, but for those who have experienced a Mud Wrap would agree that it is “deliciously squishy.”

So why do we do it and what are its benefits? Well first it is important to remember that mud and clay contain many healing and revitalising properties. Mud had been used throughout history to help balance the bodily systems, soothe aches & pains, smooth and tone skin (our largest body organ).

MUD BASICS .
The German Spa Association separates mud products into four main types –

Fangos are blue or blue / grey in colour. They come from inland mud flats, coastal bays and the ocean floor. The silty clay contains minerals in about the same proportions usually found in seawater.

Bath peats are dark brown to black and are made up of a mixture of mud and vegetable matter. Moor mud's fall into this category.

Biogenous sediments can be red or brown and occur around mineral springs, especially sulphur springs. The mud is a mixture of spring minerals and life forms that thrive in that unique environment.

Healing earths is a miscellaneous category that included all other muds that have shown themselves to be therapeutically beneficial. Dead Sea mud would be included in this category because of its unusually heavy mineral content.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A MUD WRAP?
After you are positioned on a warm treatment couch and covered with warm towels, your skin is thoroughly exfoliated to remove dry and dead skin cells. This also stimulates circulation and prepares the skin for the next step of the treatment. We then apply the warm mud from your neck to your toes before you are wrapped in a thermal blanket to retain the heat. We leave you to relax for 20 – 30 minutes before gently unwrapping you and leaving you in private to have a luxurious steam shower. The treatment is concluded with a relaxing application of body moisturiser. The end result is soft supple skin and a healthy glow!
