| Our
vision at Arome is to create unique and individual treatments
that will transport you to a place where mind, body and soul
harmony is restored.
Modern
spa treatments are derived from a variety of therapeutic treatments
that have been popular since antiquity. Modern hydrotherapy
was born in 1697 with the publication of the “History
of Hot & Cold Bathing” by John Floyer, an English
physician.
Although the basic principles of spa treatments have changed
little, techniques & ingredients have become more varied
& sophisticated, making good use of modern equipment &
recent scientific understanding.
The
spa environment has expanded also. The original mineral spring
spas have been joined by destination spas, resort spas &
more recently day spas. With each successive stage of spa
development the focus of the spa has changed also, moving
from an exclusively therapeutic focus through to a succession
of different emphases.
The
Day Spa Industry in New Zealand is experiencing rapid growth
as more & more people realise the benefits of taking time
out to relax & recharge.
All to often we look at the idea of doing something nice for
ourselves as decadent self-indulgence, instead of understanding
that nurturing oneself is an investment in ones own future
health.
At Arome we can tailor spa packages to suit your individual
needs and budget.
What about a gift of love – our ‘Arome spa gift
vouchers’ have proved to be the most popular gift item
last year.
